I am a freelance web designer and developer, specializing in User Experience Design, Drupal theming, and front-end development. I live in Elmira, Ontario, Canada – a little town just north of Waterloo, Ontario.
I offer high quality front-end evelopment, drupal theming and site building. I can also help with content strategy, information architecture, user experience design, custom web design, and pretty much anything else you need to make your website great.
I am looking for individuals or organizations to work with on an informal, ongoing basis. If you're interested, check out some of my Drupal work, and contact me for more details.
Skills – I can create unique designs with a keen eye for detail. My HTML and CSS skills are second to none (well, almost ...). I have a keen sense of the user experience and an understanding of how to make a site work well for people. I can even do a little bit of PHP and know my way around a unix server and command line interface.
Experience – I built my first website in 1997 and haven't looked back. For 11 years I worked for the University of Waterloo in various web design and development roles. I have also maintained my own websites for many years, including The Webmaster Forums, which my partner and I took over in 2005. I started my freelance business in April, 2011. See my LinkedIn profile for a full summary of my qualifications.
Quality (within budget) – I've never been one to be satisfied with second-best. I always deliver the best quality work, while keeping your budget in mind.
Reliability – I am a full-time freelancer, which means you're not competing with a "day job" for my time. I have strong communication skills, and am dedicated to getting your project done on time and within budget.
Passion – I love what I do, plain and simple.
The big picture – I understand all of the things that need to come together for a successful website. You are trying to reach an audience, sell a product, or communicate a message. Whatever I do for you, I understand that it fits within the larger context of your organization.
