I had been a moderator at The Webmaster Forums (TWF) for about a year when the administrators decided that the design needed a major face lift, and fast! I quickly came up with several prototype designs and this one was chosen by the forum owner. It was difficult to find a logo symbol that would represent the forums - the circular arrows represent the give and take of information at TWF. Updated in February 2002 with new navigation graphics, and again in 2005 with new forum buttons and navigation and sidebar.
This design was used for over five years, until we migrated the site to Drupal in 2007. I felt that the design stood the test of time and served the site well for six years. We continue to experiment with designs for TWF, and it's partner site A Padded Cell. Our goal is always to show the livliness of the community in the design.
